Program Description:
Employee surveillance is on the rise with the continued prevalence of remote work and technological developments. This panel will discuss legal considerations for employers and employees in the United States and abroad regarding employee surveillance in the workplace and beyond. To what extent must employers protect their employees’ private information? What legal risks and benefits are associated with collecting private data? Panelists will discuss emerging laws surrounding employee expectations of privacy at work, including the collection of biometric data, access to private social media and other personal information in the cloud, and new methods used to track employees while on the clock.
