Ken Dow

Senior Counsel

Ken Dow is a Senior Counsel in the Intellectual Property Group of Ice Miller. He is a seasoned lawyer with more than 40 years of experience whose practice focuses on intellectual property, licensing, and life sciences legal and regulatory matters. He is recognized for his ability to translate complex scientific inventions into legal strategy, guiding corporations through portfolio development, risk management, and licensing. He also has broad experience in IP due diligence, conducting IP portfolio evaluations, and freedom to operate analyses in connection with corporate transactions. His practice also includes negotiation and drafting licensing and collaboration agreements, with a focus on biotechnology and pharmaceutical transactions, as well as patent and contractual litigation matters and post-issuance proceedings in patent cases.

His career at law firms and as in-house counsel has traversed the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, from startups to global corporations. His legal knowledge has often played a transformational role at the intersection of law and scientific discovery. He assists clients across several technical fields, including immunotherapies, CAR-T, stem cells, antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates, vaccines, CRISPR, small molecule therapeutics, formulations, methods of treatment, and the like.
