A national law firm that expanded to Baltimore two years ago is doubling its space to accommodate a growing bench of lawyers.

Indianapolis-based Ice Miller, one of the 200 largest law firms in the country, recently signed a lease to stay in the city’s increasingly vacant central business district. The firm initially signed a 5,000-square-foot lease in the 100 Light Street tower in 2023 when it opened its Baltimore office and will now add around 6,000 square feet on one of the building’s highest floors. The new space means Ice Miller can now handle a workforce of 25 employees. The firm currently has 10 attorneys, more than double what it had just a few years ago.

“The headquarters of Ice in Indianapolis is very supportive of our growth and expansion here in Baltimore,” said Kevin Hroblak, Ice Miller’s Baltimore office managing partner. “I would say that 25 attorneys for us would seem like a good number. We could grow more, but I don’t have eyes on having 100 lawyers here in Baltimore.”
