Brian Lum, Ph.D. is senior counsel in the Intellectual Property Group of Ice Miller and is located in the Chicago office. He concentrates his practice on patents, trademarks, copyrights and patent litigation.
Brian began his career as a research technician for the University of Chicago, Department of Molecular Genetics & Cellular Biology. He also worked as a research associate at the National Institutes for Health, Laboratory of Viral Disease and at Northwestern University Medical School, Department of Microbiology.
He continued his education and in 1990 received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, Department of Molecular Genetics and Cellular Biology.
Brian graduated from Loyola University School of Law in 1998. While in law school he was on the Dean's list and a member of the Asian American Law Students Association.
Brian is licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.
