Catherine Strauss, managing partner at the Columbus office of law firm Ice Miller, said new businesses frequently need legal assistance for site selection and to connect with local providers for professional services.

“The demand for legal services in the Columbus market generally, and specifically for Ice Miller, is extraordinarily high,” Strauss said. “Demand for attorney talent is high as well, and we’ve been fortunate to grow that locally.”

Ice Miller hired the most new attorneys among Columbus’ top 10 law firms in 2025, according to Columbus Business First research.

Last year, the Indianapolis-based firm reported 71 attorneys in Central Ohio. It has since gained five additional attorneys.

Strauss said Ice Miller’s local practice focuses on business law, mergers and acquisitions, and labor and employment issues.

“Our litigation team in Columbus has also been extremely busy, so that area is growing,” she said.
