Program Description:

The resistance to DEI efforts has been underway since the aftermath of George's Floyd's murder. This thought-provoking session examines the timeline of DEI’s challenges, including the impact of those challenges on the federal government, law firms, corporations, higher education, and bar associations. DEI efforts may now draw unexpected attention or even litigation but that doesn’t have to mean a reversal. Our accomplished panelists explore recalibration, rather than retreat, looking at the latest word on what does — and doesn’t — count as “illegal” DEI, examining what is still possible and the ways progress on inclusion is still achievable and potentially even more impactful.

Moderator:

  • Tiffany M. Releford, Ice Miller LLP

Panelists:

  • Kimberly A. Hulsey, Stinson LLP
  • Dana McDonald, Under Armour Inc.
  • Honorable Alexander Williams, Jr., Judge, United States District Court for the District of Maryland (ret.)
