Elizabeth Johnson Timme

Elizabeth Timme is a partner in Ice Miller’s Trusts, Estates & Private Wealth practice group. Elizabeth works with individuals and families on their estate planning, helping them develop customized plans to provide for their loved ones and communities and to protect their assets for the future. She has significant experience in working with clients to create irrevocable dynasty trusts that have the goal of preserving wealth for many future generations. She also regularly prepares revocable estate plans (wills, revocable trusts, advance directives), other irrevocable trusts (life insurance trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, charitable trusts, and others), business succession plans for owners of family businesses, and other advanced planning techniques to ensure that her clients’ financial and personal goals are addressed.

Elizabeth also represents clients in estate and trust administration matters. She frequently counsels individual and professional fiduciaries on their responsibilities and managing the administration process.

Before joining the Trusts, Estates & Private Wealth group, Elizabeth was a corporate litigator at Ice Miller for six years. This litigation background has given Elizabeth a unique perspective in her estate planning work. As a result, she regularly consults on matters involving resolution of problems with existing estate plans, modifications to irrevocable trusts, and other risk management strategies involving estate planning and administration. She also works on estate and trust disputes involving allegations of fiduciary misconduct, contested estate plans, and other conflicts involving trusts and estates.
