John B. Gregg is an attorney in Ice Miller’s Public Affairs Group. He concentrates his practice on state and federal public affairs management, including legislative monitoring and representation, local government matters, public finance, health care, data security and privacy and economic development and redevelopment for local units of government.

John currently serves on Indiana Governor Holcomb’s Cybersecurity Taskforce as a member of the local government committee. He also has experience in the world of political campaigns and has helped candidates get elected at the local, state and federal levels. With the enactment of the American Rescue Plan Act (“ARPA”) and other COVID-related federal funding streams, John has advised local governments throughout the state on how best to utilize these increases in funding. With his counsel, local leaders throughout the state have been able to maximize the impact of these federal dollars to meet the specific needs of their communities.

Prior to joining Ice Miller, John was part of the governmental affairs and communication teams for Accelerate Indiana Municipalities (Aim). He advocated on behalf of his clients on issues, including: TIF districts, annexation, broadband, utilities, landlord-tenant regulations, infrastructure, redevelopment districts, law enforcement, tourism, alcohol, gaming, local government matters and insurance matters by facilitating and conducting meetings with municipal officials, legislators, stakeholders and other advocates. He built long-term relationships between legislators and municipal officials, as well as corporate partners, to ensure the future needs and success of cities and towns.

John earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from Butler University and attended the Kedge Business School in Marseille, France where he furthered his education in business. He received his juris doctor from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. John lives in downtown Indianapolis with his miniature schnauzer, Pope, and is active in politics and the legal community.
