Ice Miller LLP, a leading national law firm, is proud to announce that Cora Steinmetz, former Indiana Medicaid Director, has joined the firm as Of Counsel in its Government Affairs & Regulatory Law Group. In this role, Steinmetz will leverage her extensive experience to guide clients through the complex and dynamic landscape of health care legislation, regulation, and legal challenges.

Steinmetz brings decades of such experience in health care policy, having played a pivotal role in shaping Indiana’s Medicaid strategy and overall health care framework. Throughout her distinguished career, she has worked relentlessly to improve health outcomes across the state, with a focus on issues such as health care reimbursement, Medicare, and Medicaid. At Ice Miller, Steinmetz will apply this same sharp insight to address health care issues on a national scale.

As the Director of Indiana’s Medicaid Policy and Planning Office, Steinmetz oversaw the successful rollout of the state’s fourth managed care program, Indiana PathWays for Aging. In addition, she served as Senior Operations Director in Governor Eric Holcomb’s office, where she played a key role in executing the administration’s health policy agenda.

A graduate of Butler University and the Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Steinmetz was recently honored with Indiana’s highest distinction, the Sagamore of the Wabash, in recognition of her exceptional service to the state.
